VIERA VISION MAGAZINE RECEIVES FMA CHARLIE AWARDS

VIERA, FL – August 11, 2021The Florida Magazine Association recently honored The Viera Company’s Viera Vision magazine with two Charlie Awards, which has been recognizing achievements by Florida magazines and their publishers, writers, artists, photographers, printers, and marketers since 1957. Accepting the awards for the Viera Vision magazine was Stephanie Byrd, Editor-In Chief of the magazine and Marketing Manager for The Viera Company. The awards were received for the following publications:

Viera Vision Vol 16 Issue 4Best Photography: Cover
Silver, Viera Vision, Vol.16, Issue 4, Addison Village Club

Viera Vision Vol 16 Issue 6Best Traditional Illustration: Cover
Silver, Viera Vision, Vol. 16, Issue 6, Holiday Doodle

After receiving the awards, Mrs. Byrd stated, “The design team is honored to win an FMA award for this work alongside all the other creative and talented teams showcased each year at this competition. The style of each cover typically aligns to the content within the issue. In 2020, we wanted to respect the seriousness of the pandemic but also bring some joy to our readership. The joy of summer for me always includes the ability to get outside and enjoy a day at the pool or the park with friends. The photos we had taken pre-pandemic included a family with friends having a great moment at a local residential amenity in Viera. For the holiday cover, we had to pivot since we were unable to obtain the usual photos. The decision to have a holiday doodle, not only on the cover but throughout the magazine, would provide a calming way to reduce holiday stress and have some fun at the same time. We included graphic design elements that were unique to our geographic location on the Space Coast and Viera. We also won a gold ADDY Award for this cover from the American Advertising Federation Space Coast.”

“The Viera Vision is a tangible glimpse into the lifestyle of our master planned community and we are justifiably proud of the Viera Vision and the creative input from Stephanie and her editorial team that was recognized by the FMA awards, stated Scott Miller, Senior Vice President of Sales and Community Development for The Viera Company.

Mrs. Byrd continued, “The Viera Vision magazine was created to provide in-depth information to Viera’s residents and visitors about the community of Viera, the people who live and work here, businesses, and special events. According to Mrs. Byrd, “We provide a well-designed publication for the community and our local businesses to share about our area by using four cornerstone elements in each issue: depth on a local subject, highlight a local achievement, welcome a new business or service in the area, and showcase the continued development of the master plan of Viera.”
