More BIG CONTRACTS Announced

Lockheed Martin and Northrop Grumman logosMay 6, 2019—Central Florida is a major player when it comes to defense contracts. Lockheed and Northrop snared new contracts for $1.2B of defense work. The U.S. Navy awarded Lockheed Martin a $1.1 billion, three-year contract to support the F-35 Lightning II aircraft, from ground maintenance activities to supply chain management and pilot and maintainer initial training.

Lockheed Martin’s Missiles & Fire Control campus in southwest Orlando won a $30.7 million, four-year contract with the U.S. Army for Hellfire guided missile launcher and electronic assembly.  Lockheed Martin has nearly 800 job openings listed on its website.

Northrop Grumman Corp. was awarded a one-year, $38.7 million contract by the U.S. Navy to provide software support for its E-2D Advanced Hawkeye. Most of the work will be performed in Melbourne, where Northrop Grumman has more than 3,000 workers. Northrop Grumman has more than 300 job openings in Central Florida, including Melbourne, Palm Bay, Cape Canaveral and Orlando.
