Catherine McNutt Named Principal for Viera’s Middle School

May 8, 2023 – The newest middle school in Brevard County, located in Viera, recently named the newest principal. Brevard Public Schools announced Catherine McNutt will take the helm on July 1 and will then look forward to when the Central Area Middle School completes construction.

McNutt has served Brevard Public Schools as a teacher at Viera High School, a guidance services professional and dean at Melbourne High School, assistant principal of curriculum at Hoover Middle School and, most recently, as principal of Hoover.

She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Florida, a Master of Arts in English from Wake Forest University and a Master of Education in educational leadership from the American College of Education.

McNutt and her family call Viera home. She lives here with her husband Carl, daughter Ainsley and son Hudson.
