Business is Booming in Viera – FLORIDA TREND MAGAZINE

December 14, 2023 – In the latest edition of FLORIDA TREND MAGAZINE the Space Coast and Viera are prominently featured, and the influential publication has a great economic forecast for our area.

On page 102, “Todd Pokrywa, president of the Viera Company, isn’t shy with his assertion that “business is booming in Viera.” Home sales rose from 500 in 2019 to 732 in 2020, a 45% increase. Similar jumps have occurred since that time in the county’s geographic center — about 25 minutes from all parts. By 2050, Viera’s population is projected to grow to 70,000 residents joined by more than 1,000 businesses and 25,000 jobs.”

FLORIDA TREND continues, “Current growth is coming from Viera Town Center, including The Luna, a $100 million, six-story apartment and office complex that will become Viera’s tallest building under the development of North American Properties. In addition, there’s Borrows West, a mixed-use commercial area with retail, commercial, hotel and office space; and a potential third economic hub at Viera’s southern end along Pineda Causeway.”

“According to Pokrywa, from April 2020 to May 2020, Viera Co. officials went from considering project deferrals in the wake of COVID-10 to discussing project accelerations. The growth came that fast.”
