L3Harris Helps Fight Coronavirus

April 20, 2020 – L3 Harris Technologies is contributing $2 Million, plus equipment and other resources to help combat the spread of COVID-19.  The multi-national company, with a major presence in Brevard County, is also providing a 2X match to employee designated gifts to this fund.  Funds will be administered by local United Way and the American Red Cross.

In addition, L3Harris is also offering its BeOn software application for free to healthcare and public safety workers, which will enable immediate communications to individuals or large talk groups. The software turns a smartphone or a laptop into an encrypted radio, which eliminates the need for large inventories of radios being shared and sanitized between shifts.

“Combatting COVID-19 requires a global effort, and we are focused on keeping our employees safe, helping our customers sustain their critical services and supporting efforts to combat the virus’ spread,” said William M. Brown, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. “I am especially proud of the dedication our employees have exhibited during this trying period, and remain committed to supporting them, our customers and those on the front lines of the coronavirus battle.”

In Virginia, L3Harris is donating thousands of protective suits. In New York the company provided medical masks and is making grants available to eligible employees impacted by the virus. And company engineers are working with the University of Utah to manufacture positive air pressure respirators. L3Harris is also producing medical grade components for respirators for Parkview Health in Indiana and supporting other relief initiatives.
