GOLDEN SPOON AWARD for 28 North Gastropub
December 6, 2019 – Florida Trend magazine has shown excellent taste by naming 28 North Gastropub as one of the Best New Restaurants in Florida for 2019 in the Golden Spoon Awards. Located in The Avenue Viera, 28 North Gastropub is the only Brevard County eatery honored as a Best Restaurant in this round of recognition by the magazine.
“28 is the latitude of Brevard,” according to Florida Trend, “The attitude, pure fun and outlandish. First spot on any coast to put crispy octopus on a hot dog bun. Old-fave soft-shell po’ boys, burgers and short rib grilled cheese, too. Veggie dishes galore, pickled beets to jackfruit meatloaf. Brunch goes crazy, too, with bone-in pork chop sammies and corned duck hash.”
According to the magazine, Florida Trend’s Golden Spoons are the oldest and most coveted dining awards in the state. The magazine started the awards 50 years ago as a guide to executives traveling around the state. Florida has almost 22 million people and thousands of restaurants. These awards are highly selective and include approximately 100 top restaurants, which means only a handful of establishments in many markets.
Florida Trend’s selection of Best New Restaurants focuses on restaurants open for less than two years. It salutes ventures embracing new ideas and trends; some may be casual, inexpensive and experimental; some are fine dining debuts that may eventually become Golden Spoons.
This is a huge win for the innovative team at 28 North Gastropub and Viera is proud to have them as part of the family.
