January 16, 2025 – Night owls were dazzled by the show just after 2 a.m. on January 16 as Blue Origin’s New Glenn Rocket blasted off for the first time from Launch Complex 36 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station.

The New Glenn accomplished the primary mission when the seven BE-4 engines lifted the vehicle into the intended orbit. This marks a major milestone for Blue Origin, as this is the first attempt at putting a New Glenn into orbit from Florida’s Space Coast. Now the company’s future plans include taking payloads to low Earth orbit, as well as being part of the effort to establish sustained human presence on the Moon.

Viera congratulates Blue Origin on this achievement and looks forward to many more missions from the space industry, where 2024 saw a record 93 launches from the complexes just to our North.
