Volleyball Hawks Region 3 Champs – Now Headed to the State Final Four

November 9, 2021 – The Viera High Volleyball team made history by becoming the champions of their region for the first time ever on Nov 7. It was not an easy contest. The Hawks had to defeat the top-seeded New Smyrna Beach team to secure the top spot in Class 6A Region 3.  This win sends the team to the state final four.

To get to this point the team rolled through a series of impressive wins: the second district title in program history, the first regional quarterfinal and semifinal matches ever and then securing the regional championship after a hard-fought battle with the Barracudas that was decided in the final set (25-21, 26-24, 18-25, 22-25, 15-7).

Viera coach Sarah Wayne is in her 16th year at Viera and this will be her first time leading the team to the state finals.  Viera wishes the team the best of luck and congratulates them on the regional win. Go Hawks!
