Viera’s Elwell Named FLORIDA TODAY’S All-Space Coast Girls Track and Field Athlete of the Year
June 17, 2025 – VHS junior and distance runner Addison Elwell dominated during her track and field season, earning so many wins, including an individual state championship that FLORIDA TODAY has named her as the All-Space Coast Girls Track and Field Athlete of the Year.
Acknowledged as one of the best in the state, Elwell put on a show at the state Class 4A meet, winning the 3,200 meters race with her season best time of 10:34:70, capping off a season where she consistently was first over the finish line. Elwell earned first place in both the 1,600 and 3,200 at the Cape Coast Conference, District 7-4A, and Region 2-1A meets this season.
Elwell was also 2023’s FLORIDA TODAY’S Runner of the Year.
