Amazon’s New $120 Million Satellite Facility Will Call Space Coast Home

July 21, 2023 – Amazon announced today that it will be constructing a satellite processing facility in Exploration Park at Kennedy Space Center. Part of Amazon’s Project Kuiper, the facility will prep satellites to be launched as part of the company’s low Earth orbit satellite network, similar to Starlink operated by SpaceX.

The Amazon Kuiper facility, expected to be completed in 2025, will have more than 100,000 square feet for payload processing and support, have a price tag of $120 million and will bring 50 new jobs with an average annual wage of $80,000.

Weatherman. “This milestone announcement builds upon the Space Coast’s storied history, while forging our position as not just a place to launch, but the hub of America’s new space economy.”
