HOCKEY HEROES RAISE $40K FOR GENESIS HOUSE
March 2, 2026 – Here’s an update that we are thrilled to share: during the weekend of February 20-22 Hockey Heroes for the Homeless raised more than $40,000 to benefit homeless women and children in the community.
Todd Pokrywa, President of the Viera Company, led Team Viera as they took to the ice in friendly competition with teams from Capital Trusses, Stantec and W+J Construction. Another great contest that thrilled the crowd: NHL Celebrity Alumni battled the Florida Power and Light All Stars.
Team Viera had some professional help (although in a different sport) when they were joined by Doug Flutie, Heisman Trophy winner and CFL and NFL standout.
“The energy, camaraderie, compassion and teamwork displayed throughout the event,” Pokrywa said, “will have a lasting impact on Genesis House and the families it serves.”
