vIERA HOSPITAL OPENS 20-BED EXPANSION
October 7, 2026 – The ribbon was cut to mark the expansion on the fifth floor of Viera Hospital on Monday, bringing capacity up by 20 beds for a total of 118.
Included in the expansion: four rooms for maternal recovery and postpartum care, two additional OB emergency triage bays, and a new 16-bed surgical unit to support the hospital’s growing surgical, orthopedic and Joint Center programs.
Health First is also introducing “smart room” technology to improve communication between patients and caregivers, which will eventually be implemeted all four Health First hospitals.
Investment at the Viera campus will continue as part of Health First’s longer-term plans, including a new patient tower and ambulatory surgery center to be focused on orthopedic and spine care.
Healthcare is important to the citizens of Viera, and Health First strives to always be on the forefront of this technology.
