THOUSANDS WALK TO FIGHT BREAST CANCER
October 26, 2026 – The Avenue Viera was alive with excitement as thousands gathered to support survivors and raise money to fight breast cancer at the MAKING STRIDES event.
According the official Amercian Cancer Society event page, the giving for MAKING STRIDES has already surpassed an amazing $166,000.
The event took place on Saturday, October 24 and was presented by Health First Cancer Institute in partnership with Lite Rock 99.3. Community members, local businesses, sponsors, caregivers and breast cancer survivors came together to celebrate victories and support those still fighting.
The color pink was everywhere as a symbol of solidarity.
The Viera Company was represented at the event, once again sponsoring the PINK CHAIR. People had fun taking a load off for a moment to “rest up” for the big walk.
Before heading out for a three mile walk on this beautiful Florida morning, the main stage held a “Survivor Medaling Ceremony” where women were recognized for meeting and many times, beating this health crisis.
It was a fantastic day where great people gathered to support cancer survivors and raise money to fund research to help beat this disease in the future. That goal is no walk in the park, but strides are being made.
