In VIERA, the Possibilities Keep Growing

Todd PokrywaFebruary 15, 2024 – Todd Pokrywa, president of the Viera Company, recently addressed the Melbourne Regional Chamber and shared exciting news about the growth of our area. You can read the full write up on Florida Today, but here are a few highlights:

New features on the horizon.

New demographic data from The Viera Co. show that last year Viera surpassed the halfway mark toward the 70,000 residents—the area is expected to have when fully built out in 2045.

”We’re developing a community where people live, work and play,” said Pokrywa, “We’re creating a place for people to start their families, a place to retire, to begin your career. There are just endless possibilities here.”

Pokrywa said The Landings will be a 207-unit single-family-home rental community. He calls it “an alternative to apartment living” for someone interested in Viera who wants to “try before you buy.”

Among the new neighborhoods being developed by Viera Builders are Crossmolina, west of Pineda Boulevard and north of Gingko Drive. Another is Farallon Fields, south of Pineda Boulevard and west of Stadium Parkway, which will have both gated and ungated sections in that neighborhood.

Pokrywa said a new Publix supermarket will be opening in a few months in Addison Center at Viera shopping plaza.

The Publix-anchored plaza is at 7655 Stadium Parkway, south of Viera Hospital. It is about 2.7 miles from a Publix at Suntree Square, off Wickham Road in Suntree; and about 3.5 miles from a Publix at Stadium Corners in Viera.

Two hotels are under construction in the Borrows West area of Viera — a 208-room Hilton Garden Inn and a 131-room Homewood Suites. Borrows West — located just west of Interstate 95’s Exit 193 and south of Viera Boulevard — is a 115-acre site with retail, residential and office development.

They will join four Viera hotels along Wickham Road and two in the Viera Town Center area.

But Pokrywa says Viera is hoping for at least one more hotel, near the Pineda Causeway exit to I-95 and the Costco Wholesale store on the south end of Viera.

“We would like to attract a full-service hotel with convention meeting space at that location,” Pokrywa said. He said The Viera Co. also is seeking to attract more office and retail development in the area near Costco, including a grocery store.
