September 4, 2020 – Northrop Grumman and Viera Elementary have announced plans to create a state-of-the-art STEM Lab at the school. The program will give students access to hands-on STEM learning. Northrop Grumman employees have volunteered as STEM mentors to help students see how concepts are used in real-life applications.
“This partnership, focused on STEM education, will enhance our classrooms that are designed with students of today and tomorrow in mind,” said said Adrienne Schwab, Principal of Viera Elementary.
“Research shows that that STEM education creates critical thinkers, increases science literacy, and enables the next generation of innovators. It is extremely beneficial to introduce STEM education early on because in today’s age of information, the ability to innovate, be technologically fluent, and understand how and why things work together is incredibly important. We are looking forward to working closely with Northrop Grumman and appreciate their support for our teachers and students in the Northrop Grumman STEM Lab.”
