Viera High School Gets an “A” — Again

July 25, 2024 – With consistently high scores across the board, Viera High School has been awarded a “A” grade by the Florida Department of Education for the 2023-24 school year. Brevard County schools, taken collectively also got an A.

Except for 2021 (when no schools were graded) Viera has received an A grade for the last 13 years.

According to the Florida Department of Education, “School grades provide an easily understandable metric to measure the performance of a school. Parents and the general public can use the school grade and its associated components to understand how well each school is serving its students.”

The 2023-24 school grading system focuses the school grading formula on the following student success measures.

• Achievement

• Learning gains

• Graduation

• Acceleration success

• Maintaining a focus on students who need the most support
