Named in the TOP 10 BEST PERFORMING MSAs

March 2, 2020 – What does our area have in common with Seattle, Austin and San Francisco? The Space Coast has been ranked #10 in the nation by the Milken Institute’s Best Performing Cities 2020: Where America’s Jobs are Created and Sustained.  This represents a jump of 47 spots for this Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA), the most substantial change among the top 10 performing cities.

Economic Development Commission of Florida’s Space Coast’s (EDC) President and CEO Lynda L. Weatherman said, “Judging by the company we keep, including communities with much larger populations, Brevard County is now considered one of the elite metropolitan economies in the nation.”

The Milken Institute’s Best-Performing Cities (BPC) U.S. index measures job creation, wage gains and technology developments in part to evaluate the metros’ relative growth. MSAs ranked within the top 10 best performing large cities include Seattle, Dallas, Austin, San Jose, and Orlando.
