Take a Virtual Tour of Mars
The newest rover, named Perseverance, is approaching its destination on the red planet and NASA is inviting interested parties to sign up to experience the landing event virtually. The science to place this machine millions of miles away is mind-boggling, and the success rates of earlier rovers have exceeded expectations where rovers just keep going and going…
Commentary of the landing starts at 2:15 on Feb 18, with the descent happening about an hour later. NASA says to join in as the Mars Perseverance Rover slows from over 12,000 mph to landing on Mars about seven minutes later.
In a year where being “remote” has been the norm, this is about as remote as you can get.
