The Avenue Viera 9/11 Memorial
A beam from one of the World Trade Center towers serves as the centerpiece of the memorial site at The Avenue Viera. This metal is personal. It is so because of the makeup of Viera itself, untold numbers of its residents having come from the New York Metropolitan Area, so many being men and women with prior military service, and some having worked for airlines.
The beam is placed where it will rest for years to come, in a small park carved out of space in front of the AMC, formerly Carmike Avenue 16 Movie Theater.
