Art Gallery of Viera Mask Contest
September 8, 2020 – Art is everywhere. The Art Gallery of Viera is making the best of a challenging situation by encouraging people to think outside the mask, by using the practical appliance to create something ethereal. What could a mask be, if a mask could be anything?
According to the Art Gallery, “We invite you to express yourself and create your interpretation of the now common face mask into a piece of wearable art.
“Whether it’s leather, silk, chains or fabric just make it exciting, thought provoking and wearable. Wood, twine, rope or any other material you can imagine can be used to produce your avant-guard mask.
”AvantMask is not intended to create masks for actual safety or everyday use but to evolve the idea of a mask into a work of art.”
Submissions are open now until Monday, Sept. 28 and winners will be announced on Oct. 9.
