KSC VISITOR CENTER COMPLEX CELEBRATES USA 250TH

June 11, 2026 – The Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex, located a few miles north of Viera, is always a great place to visit and this summer they will be pulling out the stops to celebrate the nation’s 250th Anniversary. Highlights include an All-American Block Party, Moon Fest, and American Aviation Weekend, with astronaut appearances, drone shows, themed photo opportunities and more. Here are a few details from the Visitor Complex’s website:

It’s in the American spirit to explore. This summer, discover our nation’s pioneering spirit and bold mission to travel beyond our planet as Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex honors the 250th anniversary of the United States of America.

Beginning in July, the visitor complex will host events that celebrate our curiosity, courage, and innovation—at the place where America continues to reach for the stars (or, this year, the Moon).

All American Block Party

July 3, 4 and 5 – Celebrate Independence Day weekend with a party filled with music, games, and space-themed fun for all ages. Dance along with a live DJ in NASA Central daily from 1:00 –4:00 PM, then head to the lower level of Atlantis for hula hoop contests and additional interactive activities.

Highlights:

  • Live DJ and hula hoop contests in NASA Central (1:00 – 4:00 PM)
  • Family activities on the bottom floor of Space Shuttle Atlantis®
  • Pink Team Robotic demonstrations on the bottom floor of Space Shuttle Atlantis ®

Moon Festival

July 17, 18, 19 – Relive the excitement of 1969 and look ahead to humanity’s next era of lunar exploration during Moon Festival 2026.

Moon Festival at Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex began as a tribute to the 50th anniversary of Apollo 11—the mission that first carried Americans to the lunar surface. While that legendary moment still inspires us, this year, we also celebrate NASA’s Artemis II mission and its historic lunar flyby.

Join us for a weekend of immersive experiences, vintage vibes, and bold visions of what’s next. From the triumphs of 1969 to the missions shaping our future, Moon Festival brings generations of “Moon Joy” together.

Weekend Highlights:

  • Vintage Photo Ops: Capture the moment in your best vintage attire with themed photo stations throughout the complex
  • Live Performances: Enjoy music by The Vocalitas, a swing-era and mid-century acappella group
  • Interactive Activities in Atlantis: Create your own Orion splashdown capsule, design tin foil hats, and color your way through space history
  • Lunar Rover Photo Ops: Snap a picture with the lunar rover at the Apollo/Saturn V Center
  • Comedy with Astro & Orbit: Catch this space-themed duo at the People’s Moon installation multiple times during the day
  • Apollo to Artemis Presentations: Listen to expert-led talks on NASA’s Artemis Campaign and our return to the Moon at 1 pm, 2 pm, and 3 pm
  • Salute to America pyrotechnics show on Friday and Saturday night
  • From Apollo to Artemis, explore the milestones that brought us here — and the missions that will take us further.

American Aviation Weekend

July 31 – Aug 2 – American Aviation Weekend is a three-day celebration of flight, innovation, and the people who explore the skies. Experience the spirit of American aviation through a breathtaking aircraft flyover, special guests, and unique activities for the family.

Save the date for announcements on expert presentations, aircraft featured in the flyover, and the return of the VIP Gateway rooftop viewing experience.
