May 9, 2019 — According to Niche.com, Brevard County Florida has some amazing schools.
In Viera, the following schools received A Ratings: Manatee Elementary, Quest Elementary, Viera Charter School, and Viera High School. Ralph M. Williams Elementary had a strong showing, with an A- ranking.
May 8, 2019 — Viera High TV received some well-deserved attention at the Florida Scholastic Press Association state and local competitions. Several of the team’s video projects have achieved Florida’s Best of the Best and All-Florida, which are the highest awards possible.
May 6, 2019—Northrop Grumman Corp. was awarded a one-year, $38.7 million contract by the U.S. Navy to provide software support for its E-2D Advanced Hawkeye. Most of the work will be performed in Melbourne, where Northrop Grumman has more than 3,000 workers.
April 23, 2019—Viera High received the 2019 National 1st Place High School Families First Award, sponsored by Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA).
April 22, 2019–Florida Institute of Technology (Florida Tech) has been awarded a grant to help make the tools to supercharge learning at makerspaces.

April 1, 2019-Brevard Public Schools partnered with technology leaders, including Boeing and NASA, to host the inaugural Innovation Games. Teams of sixth-grade students competed in STEAM-focused challenges.

March 15, 2019—New STEM degree programs to help boost employment are coming to Florida Tech and UCF. In 2019, the University of Central Florida and Florida Institute of Technology are launching two new STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) programs to help boost talent production.
March 14, 2019—Soon we’ll see yet another new hotel going up in Viera’s Town Center. The hotel will have 118 suites, and like the 116-room Fairfield Inn & Suites that opened up in May 2018, it is being developed by the Sycamore Investment Group which also owns and operates the Hampton Inn in Viera.
March 14, 2019—Industry publication SpaceNews chose the Space Coast as its “Turnaround of the Year” award winner for 2018 and calls the Space Coast an “early front runner” for turnaround of the decade.
February 19, 2019—Manned test flights are on the schedule for this year, working toward the day when astronauts are once again lifted into space aboard vehicles launched from the Space Coast.
