Brevard Public Schools Secures Nearly $1.45 Million to Expand Workforce Education Programs

October 6, 2025 (Brevard Public Schools Press Release) – Brevard Public Schools (BPS) has been awarded $1,448,987 as part of a statewide $40 million investment announced by Education Commissioner Anastasios Kamoutsas to expand workforce education programs across Florida.

The funding, provided through the Workforce Capitalization Incentive Grant, will support the development and enhancement of high-demand Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs at several BPS high schools. These programs are designed to equip students with industry-relevant skills and certifications in fields critical to Florida’s growing economy.

Programs and Schools Receiving Funding:

  • Cloud Computing & Virtualization – Merritt Island High School
  • Applied Cybersecurity – Melbourne High School
  • Applied Information Technology – Titusville High School
  • Aviation Assembly and Fabrication – Space Coast High School and Eau Gallie High School
  • Artificial Intelligence (AI) Foundations – Cocoa Beach Jr./Sr. High School and Bayside High School

“This grant allows us to continue building innovative programs that prepare students for the future of work,” said Superintendent Dr. Mark Rendell. “We’re grateful for the state’s support and proud to be part of Florida’s workforce development strategy.”
