Brevard Public Schools Boasts Five Top-Ranked High Schools in U.S. News & World Report’s 2026-2027 Rankings
August 21, 2026 – Viera High School recently made the cut in a very competitive national ranking. Brevard County can be proud of the excellence of the school system, with five local high schools named in U.S. News & World Report’s 2026-2027 Rankings.

Brevard Public Schools (BPS) is proud to announce that five of its high schools have been recognized among the best in Florida and the nation in the 2026-2027 U.S. News & World Report Best High Schools Rankings. These rankings highlight the district’s commitment to academic excellence, with two schools placing in the Top 100 nationally and West Shore Junior/Senior High School earning a spot among the Top 50 public high schools in the country.
Viera High School ranked #122 in Florida, #1,789 in the U.S.
The rankings are based on a comprehensive analysis of college readiness, Advanced Placement (AP) and International Baccalaureate (IB) participation and performance, graduation rates, and state assessment scores. U.S. News evaluated more than 23,000 public high schools nationwide.

Superintendent Dr. Mark Rendell praised the district’s performance, stating:
