The Viera Company (“we,” “us,” “our”) operates a mobile application (“app”) for any member of the public (“user,” “you,” “your”) to access via smartphone as a community resource in and around Viera. The app can help people with driving directions, locating model homes, comparing neighborhoods, learning about authorized builders, understanding key signposts such as schools and the Viera Discovery Center, measuring proximity to locations outside Viera such as airports and beaches, and getting help and answers to frequently asked questions. Your privacy is extremely important to us, and this page summarizes our privacy policy.

Non-Personally Identifying Information

The only non-personally identifying information we store or transmit is analytics data in the aggregate. We may record search terms in the aggregate, but we do not match them to the user in any meaningful way. If users select builders and neighborhoods as “favorites,” that is stored in your phone’s app data, not ours. Our servers may collect anonymous information such as the date and time our app is accessed, what type of device is using the app, which pages are being viewed, etc. Some of this information is gathered automatically and helps us understand how the app is being used or how it could be improved.

Personally Identifying Information

The only personally identifying information we collect is data linked to your IP address to identify generally where people are located when using the app, down to the city level. For example, we can see how many users are accessing the app from nearby coastal towns. Otherwise, we don’t use the IP addresses to build profiles of individual users, and we do not require you to fill out any forms within the app. We do not request an email address, a username, a phone number for sending texts, etc. As such, we do not share any personally identifying information with third parties, other than aggregate data as may be required by Google Analytics.

Ads, Emails and Alerts

The app does not contain any advertising apart from the actual content itself, which shows the name and location of authorized builders, neighborhoods, schools, etc. To the extent this is deemed to be promotional content, it is the core functionality of the app. There are no banners, native ads, or house ads. There are no solicitations for you to purchase anything within the app. Likewise, the app is not configured to send emails or alerts to your device. If users begin requesting emails or push notifications in the future, we will update our Privacy Policy accordingly.

Cookies

We do not use cookies in the traditional sense, whereby a web server stores a string of information from a user’s device, and the user’s device provides it back to the web server each time the user returns. Those are browser cookies storing user data and preferences to build an activity profile, which we won’t do. The only “cookies” associated with this app are storing general settings to facilitate core app functionality and collect aggregate usage data, as discussed above. Nothing is tied to any user other than the city location of an IP address.

Privacy Policy Updates

By using the app, you acknowledge the information we have provided to you about our collection, use, and sharing of any information as described in this Privacy Policy. The effective date of this Privacy Policy is August 1, 2022, and whenever we update it, there will be a new effective date.
