SEVEN VIERA BAND STUDENTS GO TO STATE

December 5, 2025 – The music program at Viera High School is nationally known for excellence and that tradition continues with seven students being named to the Florida All-State Ensemble. They will travel to Tampa in January to perform at the Florida Music Education Association’s annual conference.

The students are: senior Tyler Blood, selected for the second time (trumpet, 11-12 Symphonic Band), junior Katerina Thomas, selected for the second time (oboe, 11-12 Symphonic Band), senior Elise Knepp (violin, Honors Sting Orchestra); sophomore Ethan Boniello (bass trombone, 9-10 Concert Band); junior Anderson Mondello (bass clarinet, 11-12 Symphonic Band); senior Marisa Solito (percussion, 11-12 Symphonic Band) and junior Nick DiValerio (percussion, 11-12 Symphonic Band).

The educators behind these impressive students are Viera High’s Nick Eggen, the director of Instrumental Music (band and orchestra); Maria Lawver, the director of Instrumental Music; and Dan Johnson, the director of Percussion.

Congratulations to these students at Viera High School and the rest of the student body who continue to excel in all their endeavors.
