Local Tourism Numbers Remain Strong

June 18, 2025 – Even in uncertain times it appears that people still want to get away from it all, and Florida’s Space Coast is a popular destination. The spring travel period actually registered gains, which traditionally means that future visitors should continue to help the local economy for the remainder of the year.

Here are some key points from a recent FLORIDA TODAY article:

• Brevard County’s tourism sector saw growth in spring 2025, with increased tourist development tax revenue and strong cruise passenger numbers.
• This positive trend is expected to continue into the summer, benefiting local businesses and employment.
• The Space Coast Office of Tourism has launched a new affordability-focused marketing campaign for the summer season.

The extra money collected from visitors to the county fund Brevard’s tourism marketing efforts, as well as beach renourishment, tourism-related capital grants, cultural grants and sports event grants.

So, if you see a license plate from a different state, or a family with big smiles on their faces, wave and make them feel welcome. No doubt some of these folks will be so impressed they will want to move here, and there is still plenty of room in Viera. Come on down!
