February 24, 2021 – Art Educators Renee Nixon of Viera High and Kimberly Haggard of Quest Elementary are among the six Brevard Public School educators to receive a 2021 Nancy Baur Dillen Art Teacher Scholarship.
During the summer of 2021, the scholarship will provide funding to cover tuition, related fees, and room and board for one-week workshops of each teacher’s choice at the internationally recognized visual art education center, Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts in Gatlinburg, Tennessee.
The Nancy Baur Dillen Art Teacher Scholarship at the Community Foundation for Brevard is helping to inspire both local art educators and the students they teach.
“Art educators help broaden student’s perspectives and their ability to think creatively,” said Nancy Dillen. “Upon returning from the week-long Arrowmont experience, attendees are filled with excitement, inspiration, and ready to bring a new energy back to their classrooms.”
Viera wants to congratulate our art educators for being recognized for excellence.
