6th Annual Light Up Viera Holiday Parade

Can You Hear the Jingle Bells Viera?

VIERA, Fla. – Nov. 09, 2018 – Santa’s elves have been hard at work this year getting everything ready for the 6th Annual Light Up Viera Holiday Parade, presented by The Viera Community Institute on Saturday, November 24th.

iHeartRadio announcer Mindy Levy of 99.3 FM will once again act as the parade’s main emcee this year along with her co-announcers, George from 1240 AM and Wingnut from 95.1 FM. The annual pre-parade fireworks display will begin at 6:00 p.m. to kick-off the start of the holiday parade.

Laurie Widzgowski, marketing & event coordinator stated, “We’re looking forward to seeing the excitement and anticipation on the faces of spectators along the parade route, especially once the new, never-before-seen, elements pass by!”

This year’s parade will provide a food truck and entertainment section, located adjacent to Calvary Chapel. The Viera Studio for the Performing Arts, the Brevard Hawaiian Dancers and an Elf ‘meet and greet’ will be located here prior to the parade alongside Santa’s letter writing station. Six food trucks will also be located in this area prior to and during the parade. Additionally, the Wells Fargo Concord Stagecoach will be making an appearance in the entertainment area for attendees to have their photo taken with the stunningly crafted carriage suited for the holidays.

In addition to the 16 decorated floats that will be navigating their way through the parade route, there are also a total of 15 walking units and 5 marching bands, representing Viera High School, Rockledge High School, Satellite High School, Astronaut High School, and Merritt Island High School.  This is the first year Merritt Island High School will be joining the Light Up Viera Holiday Parade. The Viera Company, parade sponsor and master-plan developer for the community of Viera, provides generous donations to each high school that participates in the parade, with funds going toward their music programs.

“So many individuals are involved in creating this unique experience for the community,” states Lauri Duda, vice president, marketing. “The sponsors, volunteers, and performers work really hard behind the scenes to showcase a truly exciting and memorable event for all who attend. We are thrilled to have them join us.”
